Going to DC to hang out with a girl this weekend and am looking for a nice place to have dinner. Yes, a little bit for her, but also because I'm treating myself to a vacation. I haven't been to DC since I was 15 or so, and am looking for any recommendations. If I had to lean one way or another, I'd say a classic steak or fish house is probably a better bet then the latest trend. Someplace a bit darker, a bit more cozy. Price really isn't a big issue; I'd like to not max my credit card, but anything price comparable to The Palm or Smith and Wollensky is cool. Yes, I know there is a Palm in DC, but I frequent the ones in Miami and New York and although I am going to reserve a table there, I was looking for a local alternative. Hey, I'm in DC, why not sample something unique?
Thanks guys! Mods, I don't usually do this, but I'm also posting this in the other forums just to get more exposure just this one time.
