dance soon and i need advice

today was my second day of school and i found out that homecoming is in a month which is a month sooner than i thought. i have my eye on this incredible girl that i want to take and i was going to use the month i thought i had to get to know her a little better and let her get to know me before i asked, however i dont have as much time and i still really want to take her so should i just ask her as if i know her better or what. sorry if this seems like a retarded post but im one of those guys that needs to get a second opinion on everything. and if you could give me a few ideas on how to go about it that would be great because it takes awhile to get my creative juices flowing and all of you probably have better ideas than me

Yeah go for it. Even if she rejects you, you'll at least have the satisfaction of knowing you tried, as opposed to not asking and never knowing what would have happened because you didn't do anything.

Let me ask you this. Do you want to go with her as friends, or with possibilities of more?

If you want to go as friends, then by all means get to know her before you ask. Because, if you do get to know her (which is slang for "befriend her"), that's all you WILL go as.
If you want to go with possibilities of more, then grab your balls and just ask her. It's a misconception that a girl will not want to go a dance with a guy she doesn't "know well" first. Girls want dates (to dances especially) even more than guys do - and in most cases will accept the first half-decent guy who has the balls to ask.

yea i definately like the idea of being more than friends. and going stag isnt an option for this dance because i go to an all guy school and this is homecoming so in order for a girl to get in she has to be invited and im not about to take one away from one of the football players. but thanks for the advice you guys are pumping me up for this which is what i wanted
