I have to say as a recently divorced man I don't agree with any of that. If you marry someone don't b.s stay with them. This pretty much my story except that her mom hated me. I stole her from her bf and she told me years later she still loved him. Even looked him up on myspace he looks a little like me. Anyways I've been giving this b!tch rides and I think I'm going to tell her that me and somebody else are in a realtionship and that I can't do it anymore. Sprry off subject but I hope she gets her Sh!t men can sense this **** and ain't as stupid as women think.

The reason I like this forum is because it goes against the grain of 99 percent of young men I know. A good percentage of the guys I graduated high school with (I'm 27) are married/engaged to an UG or in an LTR with an UG. And I just don't understand why. Most of these guys are decent looking guys. Why seal their fate at such a young age?

I consider my greatest gift to be my independence. Hollywood has created this great myth about having a connection with the woman and meeting the one...even I fell for it for a long time. Then I realized, even if I met this mythical woman, I don't want kids at any point in my life and don't want to sign my life away to anyone.

I have AFC friends who say "What's going to happen when you're old and lonely?" Well even if that's the case, as a man with no baggage I can find an attractive woman my age who if she has kids, are already grown up, and live with her without putting the marriage label on it. Or I can use my money that I didn't waste on some b*tch and kids for high class escorts.

What's the big deal--lots of people hook up on the side. If you don't like this sort of thing there are definitely women who feel very strongly against it, too. I don't believe "everyone" is trash like the people that post there. It's just like diseased minded individuals looking for validation and the "it's okay" from other's to feel they've done nothing "wrong". Like online dating. It's just a small segment of the population not a general rule of thumb.

Hmm...but bro how would you explain the 50% divorce rate and with 85% of it being filled by women.

I feel like maybe there is something bigger going on.

It's easy to explain--men don't usually file for divorce even when they should. Women have more resources setup to help guide them through that process, and in general women have more social support than men do which encourages them to go a head and file. Sometimes the woman is filing because the man will not work, cheats, and so on, so it is not a men vs women issue. Men may also fear having to pay child support and maintenance since women are more likely to get custody of any children involved.

The 50% type statistics are entirely accurate as it does not account for people who are divorced *multiple* times. A person who divorces once is more likely to divorce again (if remarried) and a person who has been divorced twice is extremely high risk.

Furthermore, if you want to be married and stay married look for women who are religious and educated. They are less likely to divorce than other women.
