Okay, I know I've joked about this in a past response to a post, but now I'm serious. One of my ex-GFs had a dad that would keep track of her menstrual cycles. Okay, here's some background: She's upper-middle class, Northern California, Jewish. I was thinking maybe the fact that she was Jewish had something to do with it. Maybe part of her religion or something. The only reason I ask is because I'm currently seeing another Jewish girl. See, we were getting intimate and all of a sudden, her dad calls on the telephone. He's all "How's school honey, etc., etc., then all of a sudden (this is on speaker phone) by the way, you'll be having your period tommorrow. MY GF was like "Okay, Daddy. Bye!" I was totally floored. I was all "How does he know that?" She was like "He keeps track of my menstrual cycles." I was all "Isn't that strange?" SHe responed "NO! Why is that strange?! There's nothing wrong with that!!" She got really defensive. You'd think that if it was something to do with her being Jewish, she would have told me. I tried reserching different religions, but I came up with nothing. It really freaked me out. Well, I'm slightly apprehensive about this new girl I'm seeing. If there are any Jewish people on this board or anybody else that can enlighten me on this matter, I'd sure like to know. Thank you.

I'm making vague assumptions, but if I have a wild daughter on my hands who jumps everything that moves, I'd like to monitor her cycles in case she becomes pregnant.

Yeah, I should add that she is 20 years old. It's really strange because everything about her seemed really normal except for this one issue.
I also considered the fact that her dad just wanted to know if she was fooling around with a lot of guys, but she wasn't the type to fool around, as far as I know. She was pretty well-adjusted and although she was attractive, I'd consider her a nerdy girl, and I was her first. Strange.

Is strange but...
I have to admit I've never heard of this before and it is a little strange but if I was the father of teenage girls who lived with me, I'd want to know what their cycle was.
I'd want to know just so that I know when its time to stay out of the way, work on my hobbies in the garage etc. if you know what I mean.
As well, some fathers are really close to their daughters and maybe over time, they have worked out a method whereby the dad says, "heh, remember your period is starting tomorrow so don't freak out on me over nothing as we both know you are prone to do when you've got PMS."
Maybe the girl was pregnant before and the dad helped her out with the abortion thing so now he keeps checking up her and her cycles.

Yeah, like I said, she is 20 years old--no longer a teenager. No, she doesn't have very bad PMS. She doesn't have PMS at all, actually. She's never had an abortion or been pregnant.
One thing I did notice is that they are a close family, but not abnormally close. I think she might have mentioned that her dad may keep track of her mom's cycles as well, but I don't remember. I'll have to ask her.

Im 98% sure this has nothing to do with them being Jewish..the family is just hella weird. There seems to be a close bond between the girl and her parents..so if you wanna try to work that..then all power to ya.
IMO, i would say get the f*ck outta there before the dad takes a liking to you and one day grabs your balls while telling you to cough...once your in..im not sure that theres a way out lol.
