Does anybody out there know how to build

1) pull-up bar
2) dip bar
3) ankle weights
4) wrist weights
5) weighted gi(sp?)
6) safe gymnastic area(in bedroom)
7) 5-10-20-50 lb weights?

any other ideas for home(free) workout equipment I can make on my own would be welcome:up:

Building all of these should be self explanitory if you know what you are doing.

Numbers 3,4 and 5 are totally useless. Buy numbers 1, 2 and 7, making them yourself is nearly impossible and unsafe, you might very well cause yourself some serious (permanent) injury. And making number 6 depends on what you're going to be doing. You could always use buckets of water for bicep curls and a big stick with bags of stones attached to it for weights. Couldn't you think of this yourself?

But I know what you're after, you want to spend no money for equipment and get big muscles. Just do some exercises that use your own body weight as resistance, pushups alone train almost your entire upper body. For your upper legs do some chair sits against a wall, and for your calves get the yellow pages, put your toes on top of the edge and let your heels touch the ground beside the book, then stand on your toes.

I can't believe I wrote all this, because it's stuff anyone with half a brain could figure out on themselves. Get a job and buy some weights, building your own **** isn't going to work.

Your best off finding a dip tower. they have a pullup/chinup bar on them as well. you can get one used for like 75-100 bucks. From there you can get a dipbelt (negating need for ankle/wrist weights) and some barbells to attach to the belt.

But then again i guess that defeats the entire purpose of building your own equipment (which in my eyes can be dangerous).

In the end your better off joining a gym.

I don't want to spend much money and I want the girls to see when they step into my house that I am still a "natural" at heart;)

I remember that idea, that is gold

In the end your better off joining a gym.
there is no gym in my community, it's been tried time and time before but where I live it's hard work(ever seriously go hunting and camping? trekking, dragging, netting it's hard work), genes(natural tuniit strength flowing through the veins of a lot of families here), and fighting on a regular basis that people aim for. People are poor and they can't foot a hundred bucks a month for membership.

I love this idea, I can build myself a tower from building scraps.
I also never thought of a weight belt for dipping, thats cool never heard of em:) thanks King

oh yeah and thanks for the input sempor, I'm just trying to get some quick tips.

Go to Wal Mart or your local sporting good store and buy an olympic-style barbell and some plates to go with it. You can do deadlifts, military presses, curls and olympic lifts with the barbell alone, or if you get a cheap rack you can do squats. Barbell should cost 40-ish dollars for a 45 lb barbell, and weights should cost 50 cents per pount (E.G. 45 lb plate is 22.50, 10 lb plate is 5 bucks).

I work with a charter company...

it's more than 3$ a pound to ship:mad:

so buying weights is hard stuff for me, I'd rather just learn to tie down rocks and use strong wooden beams as a bell.

a regular 45lb beam+90lbs of end weights would cost me 70$ from the store+420$ shipping.... 490$ is tough **** for a guy like me who makes only 1200$ a month before housing clothes and 300$ a week on food

HAR HAR RUCK SACKS FILLED WITH SAND!!!(sorry for caps I'm excited)

ankle weights, wrist weights, belt, and gi are now completed.

message me for fitting instructions:)

Get out of town and go to a wallmart or some other fitness store. Or you could always look for a garage sale.

Guys, do you understand where Iqualuit is?

Think of the farthest most desolate place you've been. It's way past that.

Well thats his problem. He needs to solve it. WTF he's doing all the way up there is beyond me.

He could use some rocks and some seals or something. Running away from bears is a good exercise too. Plus it improves your sprinting time so much better than regular training.
