Alright, I've been reading this site almost non stop every day, and it's all great stuff, though I find myself feeling overwhelmed internally because of all there is. Which is fine and even expected I'd imagine. Anyhow, my real reason for posting is to relay a story that happened to me today and would like to know what you guys think, and listen to any suggestions as I'm still learning.
So I had to stop at the rental car place because I've been renting a car while mine is in the shop. When I was there before I got a pretty good vibe from the girl working there and wondered if she'd be there again. Anyhow, despite feeling utterly useless as a man and completely overwhelmed by all the information I've read, I managed to hold myself rather confidently and entered the place.
So the same girl was there and she was busy helping two very tall guys who were able to talk with her quite well. They even seemed to be able to get her on the defensive because of her height (she's probably about 5' 1'') and such, so I tried to wonder if they were making an impression on her or not (I try to learn from every situation, not just my own) anyhow, when those guys left, she was helping an older guy and eventually she said to me "hey, you're back!" with a smile, as she rushed to get more papers and whatnot.
I said "I'm back." in confirmation. I thought of saying "Did you miss me?" but didn't. At the time, I thought I should have because it might be a good thing to do, but now I think that it was right of me not to, as I shouldn't try to be too interested, and definitely shouldn't make it seem like I've been thinking of her since we last met (which I haven't, but still might have displayed by saying "I'm back." as I did. So yeah, any help on this or any other point in this story would be great.)
Anyhow, as she walked back to the old man she was helping, she asked "how did it go?" in reference to the car. "Fine." I said "I just need some fuel" Keep in mind that I kept eye contact the entire time, but she didn't, but when she did it seemed soft and she seemed interested, though I admit I haven't a clue as to the difference between genuine attraction, and the sense I get of it, you know?
But anyways, to make a long story short, we were able to keep comfortable eye contact and eventually I found out that the fuel-up coverage I got for the car only applied to when I bring it back, not always lol, so I must have missed that or misunderstood it the first time. Though three mistakes (I think) that I made during the conversation are as follows:
1. At one point she apologized because of my misunderstanding ("She said something like: "No, just when you return the car, sorry") to which I assured "No, That's ok" >< AFC, right?
2. At one point she was visibly overwhelmed by trying to help me and the old man. I told her after she drew a blank "Yeah, maybe I'd better wait till you're finished" and then the other girl (old and ugly) helped me, while the other girl still tried her best to remain in the situation.
3. Didn't make any moves. :/
Anyhow, that's basically it, like I said I'm confused lol, this is all so much to take in and I have no problem with my confidence level, but I do notice that I tend to be too nice after a while (as indicated above) and I never initiate anything. :/
Any insight would be appreciated.
