1. "Don't Talk for too long on the phone". I break this one with women who are highly intelligent and who really appreciate a guy who an active mind(which is the type of women i seek out).

WHY? Because the IDEA of a relationship is companionship. What better way than TALKING? But its got to be with an evolved woman who appreciates you MORE with each growing conversation. Since I dont date airheads, i often ignore the dont talk rule.

NOTE: I DONT reveal my weaknesses and problems, in other words, this isnt a chick conversation. Remember: morons talk about people, middletons talk about events, and geniuses talk about IDEAS.

2. "Never Talk about other women you hang out with". I appreciate the wisdom behind this, but break this rule all the time. How can I share anything at all about my life without at least mentioning the funny/amusing/interesting things im doing with other people(i have lots of female friends). Dont BRAG, just mention people in passing who are part of your life.

NOTE: Ive found that it IS bad to hash out old girlfriend problems, but it CAN BE good to mention all the stuff you learned not to do in the future: Such as not thinking of yourself all the time. This demonstrates something women DO like: Youre a guy who's capable of evolving into something BETTER than he is now.
(not out of desperation but self determination)

3. "Never Reveal flaws and insecurities". Travel with care on this, but I reveal stuff all the time about myself that ive goofed up. But i DONT WALLOW IN IT. Being REAL is different than being NEEDY, at least in my mind. True, somen women are attracted to the superman type who never reveals a weakness, but i dont believe that would be the type of woman that would remotely interest me.

NOTE: I do this stuff naturally in the flow of conversation. I dont SIT down and tell her "theres something i need to tell you, i flunked out of college when i was 18". Instead, i mention stuff like that casually in the flow with a SENSE OF HUMOR about it. See? Youre the guy who went through something hard, and came out of it AMUSED. That's strength.

I'm interested in seeing what the other DJ's on this board have to say about this.

The rules are not made to be followed to a tee.

In fact... They aren't really even rules. They are guidelines for beginners. Once you learn the ropes, you can adapt them as you see fit to your style.

Do what works for you, but for others, they may not be able to deal with long phone conversations, for instance.
