I have a virus and my virusscan can't remove it.

New Poly Win32 is the name of the virus.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What virus scan are you using? Norton isn't worth sh!t, i would personally recommend AVG virus protection.

mcafee.

I just installed hijack this and ewido security to help fix my problem. Having installed ewido, i'm amazed at just how many bugs i had on my computer.....that mcafee failed to recognize.

I have report logs posted on another website, so hopefully i can find a resolution?

I'm a pc tech myself. Start in safe mode, with interenet, and go to www.trendmicro.com and run the free scan.
Let it remove whatever it wants.
Then restart in safe mode and run www.activescan.com
Let is remove whatever it wants.
update your AVG/Norton/McAfee and let them remove anything they want.
Download a DOS version of "Fprot" and hopefully you have a FAT32 partitioned HDD. If you don't then skip this step.
Run Fprot from a Win98 bootable floppy, and let it remove whatever it wants.

Spybot
Adaware
HijackThis (make sure you know what you are removing).

I have removed pretty much every virus/spyware I've encountered by doing this routine. Good luck!

Also, to help prevent viruses, use the firefox browser instead of internet explorer.
