Do you guys do this? Does it work? Any examples for any of you from the field?

I believe this is one of the things that is supposedly considered highly effective to make the woman think you are different. Beautiful women are told they are beautiful daily so instead it is more effective to complement them on their intelligence which will then later make them think some emotional crap like "this is guy is just different" and then vice versa with a smart girl who might be shy geeky, doesn't dress bold and thus get as much attention as the girl in the short skirt. This type of girl is likely not complemented on her looks as much so its much more effective to tell her how beautiful and gorgeous she is. And she should also think "this guy is just different" type of thoughts.

Even the smart girls are told they’re beautiful by thirsty ass guys. I just don’t tell any girl she’s beautiful or even comment on her looks for the first few times of meeting her.

I wouldn’t compliment her on neither until after I’ve built rapport and comfort with her, and after a few dates (or even a few lays). I find complimenting beauty or intelligence is most effective once she’s invested into you already. It’s more meaningful to her.

My goal early on is to be fun and have her qualify, not validate her with compliments.

However, compliments that are thoughtful and crafted to be unique to her (outside of her looks or smarts) are effective at any point in the dating process, provided you’re not devaluing them by giving them out too frequently.

You should complement a beautiful girl if she knows what day of the week it is.

And a smart girl if she looks like less of a rottweiler's ass than usual.
