What do you do in your life that's competitive for you?
I find that I have a real competitive streak in me that is kind of going to waste. I mean, I've been taking up a lot of "extreme" sports...rock climbing, motorcycle riding, that kind of stuff, but never at a "competitive" level.
I mean, at 25, there are no high-school or college sports I can participate in to get my fix. I remember even after college, a bunch of us used to get together on the weekends and play Ultimate Frisbee and we really got into that. But lately it just seems like everything I do, I'm pushing myself but I never really get a chance to test myself against the rest of the universe.
Even when I used to play video games...like the nights I went head to head with my friend in Madden, or playing Socom III all night, or even just getting out to shoot pool, it gave me an outlet. We rarely sparred in my martial arts class, but that too gave me an outlet, especially when there were other people of my caliber out there.
What do you guys do that's competitive? How do you scratch that itch?
