I read up on the ab training. Turns out that I found some articles that say you should train daily ? Well I don't know anymore.

I did them with 6 days of rest (could be totally wrong since I got the info from this site) in between, so once every week. And didn't quite get any results. I know started my training season again in the ring. We train daily, so I have no choice. In the week-end we rest saturday. I have a lot more results in a week then I had in the two months of euh .. looks training (?).

Can anybody correct me on the stuff I learned that was false ?

You should work them out just the way you workout your other muscles (not way more exercises for them cause you think itll get you leaner / a six pack faster or anything like that ; and train them as often as your other muscles). I work all my muscles twice a week. So I do like 4 sets for abs two times a weeks (liek I do for all other (small) muscle groups too). Other people prefer to work out their muscles just once a week...that way you would work them out once a week but for example 8 sets for em (if u wanna train with the same intensity).

I didnt fully understand what you mean, but you said u had gotten more results in one week than in the previous 2 months since u changed your routine...I think its kinda unlikely that you could really see any visible gains after just one week (I mean your (ab) muscles wont really get bigger in just one week). Maybe theyre more visible cuz of some other reason, but not because they got bigger?

Anyways, I have a question, too: Do crunches just train the upper part of your abs? or do they just train them with more intensity than they train the lower abs? or dont they work out the lower abs at all?

I think they train the upper abs with great intensity. Not sure though, We do them to train the upper part of the abs that's all I know.

Btw apparently I also lost 3kg in a week, jeezes christ ! I've been training 3 hours a day for 6 days now. I think my abs are just showing through a bit mroe because I'm losing weigth, fat ? Omg there's no way I can gain weigth with my current training. Oh well, I'll just have to find a way to pump some muscle lol :) I already have a high metabolism and that in combination with my training just screws the fat beyong recognition I think.

You can train abs more than once a week without negative effects. They also say you can train calves more than once a week also. Personally I work my abs twice a week but I'm thinking of kicking it up to 3 times a week soon so I can get more ripped for spring break.

I train them depending on how they feel.

If I did a serious ab routine and thye're sore the next day, I wait a day. If they are sore on the 2nd day, I wait.

Basically, I wait until I feel that they have recovered. Some work outs are more intense than others.
