Does anyone have a recommendation for a good musky cologne?

I'm trying to build up my cologne stock. So far I have a sweet smelling cologne for when i work out. I also have one that I use for work at the office.

thanks for the input sinnerman, I'll be sure to look those up. I've had luck with Issey Miyake but now I want something that sets a different tone and was hoping to find something more masculine.

You have got to try out Marc Jacobs, the original one in rectangular package. Marc Jacobs Eau De Toilette Spray for Men.

I have NEVER gotten as many compliments on a cologne as I do when wearing Marc Jacobs, and few of my buddies that I have told also like it a lot. It's not easy to find as they don't make this one anymore (their new one is not as good, IMO), but I have seen it at stores such as Nordstrom and you can look it up online. Here, I just did a quick search and here is the kind you want:

Try it out and I can almost guarantee you will start getting compliments on "how good you smell"... it's pretty crazy

If you're looking for a MUSKY Cologne I HIGHLY recommend Blue Jeans by Versace.
Excellent smell, i've had numerous compliments on it from friends and girls, it smells like man.

If you're looking for another alternative less musky, I'd recommend 1 Million by Paco Rabanne, has different smell than most cologne's, my personal fav.
Let me know if you strike up any good finds aside from these.

FACT: Cologne is pure poison. Any artificial fragrance is. This goes for scented soap and shampoo as well. They are made of highly volatile solvents that just happen to smell nice. Most all of them are made in North Jersey - just take a ride on the Turnpike and smell Newark sometime (which smells like pickled butt).

Why poison yourself and others just to wear expensive, noxious, neurotoxins?

Go with essential oils like Tea tree, Lavender, Peppermint and Sandalwood. Those have healing properties.

Bible Belt,

That Armani Code is actually my second favorite one. It's good stuff. Have you tried the original Marc Jacobs?

Feeling daring ?
There's this one cologne from the 80's that's now only availible in YSL boutiques (I imagine online as well)...
About 4/5 girls will think it smells bad, or at best, think it's ok....
The 5th girl will practically orgasm on the spot when she smells it. Is this 5th girl hot ? That's the chance you're taking L.O.L.
It's the most unique cologne I've ever smelled. Nothing else is similar.
The original Yves St. Laurent Kouros in the White Bottle.
Apart from that, EVERY chick I've ever dated over the past 25 years has loved my Drakkar Noir..........Every One !!!
I also like HUGO by Hugo Boss and John Varvatos Vintage

I have not tried the Marc Jacobs yet. I also have heard good things about the Burberry colognes. The HUGO is another favorite of mine.

I tend to group colognes as being one of four types, this is just my own thinking:
  1. Formal, musky, nighttime clubbing cologne - (Code, Issey Miyake Blue, Drakkar, Kenneth Cole Black) These colognes work well in a crowded public place to get you noticed. But don't spray it on right before school or you will gag everyone in the classroom.
  2. Cool, crisp, autumn cologne - (HUGO, Cool Water). These are fine for one-on-one date evenings.
  3. sweet smells for a hot summer day - (Ralph Lauren Romance, Calvin Klein Escape). The sweetness covers up and blends with your body's less-than-sweet smell as you sweat.
  4. something mild to wear to bed every evening - ( I like CK Be, and Hollister's Jake). If you're going to wear something all the time, it needs to be mild, or else you and everyone else will get tired of it.
