I got a phone call from my mom who told me my old best friend called me, to inform me of the 10 year class reunion that we are having in august.

The thing is.. I really have no interest whatsoever in going. Could care less. I'm not into showing off and going to see who has done **** and who isn't. Is it one of those things that you are kinda obligated to do or is it one of those things I'm going to regret if I don't do? Not like I can go and hook up with anyone, that would be the only reason whatsoever I would go.

I didn't go to mine because hell I didn't socialize with those people in high school, my true friends from high school I still talk to on email/facebook/telephone... I really didn't see any reason. Apparently everyone who was popular in my high school either got fat, had a bunch of kids or got stuck in deadend jobs. The people you knew were going places, some of them did, and a lot of the freaks and geeks like myself turned into pretty good people. Some of them I would have like to have seen. I wouldn't have minded having a bit of a gloat over the hot chics that turned me down back in the day, I know its James Cameron petty....but damn it feels good to be a gangster.

It's totally optional. Honestly, mine was pretty lame and not really worth the ticket price.

Its a class reunion, its your choice whether or not you want to go. If you have no interest in going then don't go. I don't see how you would regret not going, I mean having the same boring conversations with people you'll never see again does not sound very fun to me.

Infact, just last month there was a "reunion"/"get together" with people who went the same University as I did. Instead what happened, is that my real friends came down to see me personally where we got to chill and all beforehand for a couple of hours, we parted ways for a bit as they just wanted to show up for "face" before we had some more fun later in the evening.

These are just one of those things where its like if you can come, great, if you can't too bad. No one is going to get hurt feelings or anything, so just do what you want to do.

I would highly recommend going.

I didn't have high expectations for mine but it ended up being a 3 day party and was an absolute blast.

Screw all the egotistical bs that goes on. Forget showing off. Don't even bother asking people what they do etc. Just go hang out and have a few drinks and some laughs.

I've never gone to any of my class reunions, I couldn't be less interested. I didn't really enjoy high school. When I graduated I thought I would be sentimental about it, but it was just like a huge weight lifted off of me, I was so happy to be done with it.

I did go to my ex-wife's class reunion with her. It was boring, just a bunch of old people there (and they were younger than I was lol).

I'm still friends with all the people I cared about in High School. So I have important reunions a few times a year!

Don't go for the people that YOU want to see. Go for the people who want to see you.

I guarantee there will be people there that will be thrilled to see you. (and vice versa). There will be people you've forgotten about or never even knew who may become good friends. Mine was so much fun that people said they wanted to do it every year!

It's a once in a lifetime. You gotta go!

Class reunions are just a popularity contest to see who turned out the best and find out who you outlived. It's about as pointless as homecoming/prom king/queen. I skipped my 11 year (they didn't get organized in time for a 10 year), but I might go for the 20th just to see old friends back home.
