for the first time in apple or in the city that never sleeps, for the first time going that (with my parents, we live in a hotel now)

I just went out to look around for some girls to talk to and chill (maybe even do )

I went up to a girl that I liked and I said "hi... I'm don, what's yours?"

she saw and heard my name, then kept walking
I did this with a couple of girls in different area
notice, one girl saw me, then started cracking up and laughed
her friends came up and asked "what's so funny?" she started saying that I look/am stupid

not only that, in chinatown, every asian girl act like they're the priority, damn ***** shield!

when I go to jersey or let's say (I live in maine) maine, nobody is THAT ignorant

those who live in ny, how the **** do you manage to approach these girls?

I'm from Toronto and its pretty much the same.

West coast girls are a lot more relaxed. I've also heard the NYC

girls are bigger golddiggers looking for the

broker/agent/exec/ceo to wispt them away like Richard Gear

in "Pretty Women" !! In larger cities like these, no one really

approaches on the street becasue there are a lot of distractions

and weirdos out their.

Your best bet in clubs, bookstores and more relaxed atmospheres.

Yeah, I have lived in NYC for past 10 years so I know EXACTLY what you mean. It is more difficult to open with the "Hi my name is..." routine..especially when your name is Don! In NY, only players call themselves Dons so this might account for the reactions you are getting. Those bytch shields are tough but they can be penetrated. I usually ask for directions to break the ice. Heck, I opened up one girl by asking her for the time. You just have to be reeeeeaaaal laidback and casual to yuor appraoch here. Too much high-energy, especially on the streets will just scare most of these ladies off. I remember this one chick was being harassed by this dude who would not leave her alone. So I walked right up to them, and played it off like I was her boyfriend...put my arm around her and said to the dude, "Hey, I don't appreciate you hitting on my lady in front of me man. It's disrespectful!" He put up his hands and was like "Oh sh!t, my bad!" and walked away. The girl was so happy I had come to the rescue and we joked about how desperate this fool was. I told her she should be careful since there are a lot of freaks in the city. Told her she needed a strong man to protect her on her way home. She readily agreed and I ended up at her place, but I botched the whole thing later on when she accused me of just being after sex I said "Yeah, well at least I'm honest!" (DOH!) She made up some excuse about school/work or sumsh!t and kicked me out shortly afterwards...Man if only I had sosuave on my side! Would have accused her of trying to sex ME! Ahhh well, live and learn, eh?

P.S- Elimidate is 100% spot on. Street pickups are only for master DJs in NY! Hit up the Barnes and Noble on Astor place, or hang around the NYU campus. There was a great thread about this not too long ago with some killer suggestions for NYC pickup spots. Let's see where is it....

Besides, Chinatown girls are busted and have SARS anyway. The hotter Asian girls in NYC are always the college girls, usually in Mid/downtown around the NYU campus. I live in Maine too and there really isn't any place like it. The REALLY hot girls here are like that - only because they are elite (we got a ton of ugly mutants in this state).
Girls in other places have to be more on guard. Let's face it, there's not to much to worry about around here.

For some reason in Miami alot of girls dont really have a b1tch sheild up. Whenever I walk by alot of girls always hold eye contact with me. (im not good at cold pickups so I dont usually say hi or anything) If I start a conversation, i dont know if its just me or anything, the convos start off light and funny. I guess my warm smile instantly brings down that b1tch sheild and the girls just lighten up and they play along.

Lol. Combine with the fact that New York has been known for creeps, rapers, wierdos, and other fun stuff like that, and then you get a shield the size of the Great Wall.
