Can you have chemistry with a girl but the girl just isn't interested in you?

I mean I'm talking everyone who see's us thinks we're a couple, fight like a couple, etc., etc. but she balks when i ask her out.

If we in a public setting I purposely don't give her any attention but she always gravitates towards me. And the personal space barrier is definitely broken...

Yes. You like the girl,you're attracted to her,you feel something when you look at her,but she isn't interested in you.

Yep,you called it. She gravitates towards you not because she likes you or is interested in you,but because she likes male attention. My guess is she's probably already seeing or in the beginning stages of seeing someone she does have chemistry with,while using the attention you give her to tied her over until the other relationship gets established. Once that happens,then the amount of time and attention she's currently getting from you will decrease.
