It wasn't any sort of production, but I wouldn't change the way my beloved proposed to me for the world. He just asked me over soup and salad at an all-night diner. No ring, no down on one knee, no fuss...just the question...which took a while for him to actually come out with because sometimes he forgets to ask the main question in discussing side issues.
He started by mentioning the date he had in mind, but without explaining the significance of the day. It took a couple questions before I got what he was trying to say. Still, I've always thought it was the most romantic thing in the world that he found a likely date, taking into consideration how long it was going to take me to make the wedding lace. Now that's a guy who gets what's important!
You can plan and plan all you like, but the thing that will make it special is the love you and the lady in question share. If you've got that, you've got everything you need.
