here's one i used to meet and get together with my current gf:

at a party, like 30+ people in the room..go up to the girl

me: hey, i have a question for you
HB: whats that?
me: who do you think is the best looking girl in the room, and dont say yourself because then youre just one stuck up girl
HB: *points* she is
me: ok, thanks

i immediately left and went and talked to the girl she pointed at...it did help that i already knew that girl so it made it easier but it wouldnt be that hard to hold a little conversation with the other girl

for the rest of the night, the girl i talked to first was eyeing me and as i was leaving the party she came up to me and asked why i didnt talk to her anymore that night

i responded "well i usually like to go for the best looking girl, but maybe if you give me your number ill give you a try"

i called her back a couple days later and things went from there.

I did read this somewhere else, so I'm not taking full credit but it worked like a charm.
