Look up how alcohol interacts in your body and you might, like me, tend to consider as more than just a "cheat" meal.
Consider it a "destruction" meal!
I'm not talking about a couple beers/shots a week...I'm talking about enough alcohol to knock you out of your fukking mind! If your diet is TOTALLY solid, your workouts are hardcore, and you eat like a beast, then maybe getting "buzzed" ONCE a week is OKAY (still not optimal)!
To lessen the effects, come home and drink a couple liters of water, down a protein shake, get some carbs in, and have some cottage cheese or something. Also take a multivitamin before going to bed. This is my "post-alcohol" routine. This will lessen the negative effects it will cause! I actually have everything READY ahead of time, before I go out, so that I can quickly down it when I get home!
Since I'm on a serious bulking schedule, I'm seriously cutting back.
Like WarBoss stated quite blatantly, there's really no point in going and working out, as well as buying supplements/tons of food if it's just going to be blowed away by heavy drinking!
