Hello all. So recently I've been talking to this girl who works in the same company as me. She's 2 years older than me, she works here as a contract staff like me, and she studies part time too. I've seen her around for quite some time, but we've never spoken to each other because we worked in different office (her office was physically opposite mine due to the constraint of space).
I'll say this upfront - I know her interest level for me is not peaking because she takes very long to reply message (especially when she's busy or working). She also doesn't really look my way in office when there are colleagues around. It's like she's very discreet and seems like she's trying not to let anyone around us know that we are talking to each other out of work.
We started to talk because I came back from a 2 weeks vacation and I got shifted over to her office due to lack of space, and we ended up being the only 2 there because we work in a major events company and event was coming so most people moved to the office at events ground.
On my second day there, she asked me along for a food tasting session. While we were there, her boss was discussing business with the manager, so we got bored and we started to pass message through her phone. After some time, she asked me for my number.
On a number of other occasions, we went out to dinner/supper, and a movie with supper alone. However when we are out together, I feel like there's a physical barrier (not that I've tried to break the physical barrier, something that I'm working towards at the moment).
I spoke to one colleague who knew her for a much longer time than I do - she said that she's very reserved and shy, so the fact that she went out with me says a lot.
Yesterday, I texted to ask her for a movie because I had tickets but she didn't reply for 6 hours. So I called her and she said it was because she worked late and had school assignments to work on that's why she didn't reply. She then said the day I asked her for wasn't very good for her schedule and if we could do next week instead. Then she asked me about a couple of things like when my contract was ending and all. She sounded quite happy that I called and wasn't in a hurry to hang up. Later on she also texted me about her whereabouts and what she was doing, but after I replied she took a long time to reply.
So from what I can gather, I think she's slightly interested in me though her interest level is not very high, or just that she's just a workaholic and doesn't place me as her priority.
What do you guys think?
