Those are possibilities, yes. Depends on what the guy and the girl is like. Confronting anyone without evidence is never wise, they can just turn things back on you easily and you come off worse. If you tell him that someone told you she was cheating but that you don't know for a fact, that should take the heat off you because you're giving him second hand info...and it will make him dig for facts.
