I may regret posting this because I just tanked a fvckton of caffeine and I always have ****ing awesome ideas on caffeine. but this **** is genius and although I want to keep it to myself, you guys are my brothers and I will share it.

you know how facebook has that feature like "maybe you know this person"

well ****, whether you know them or not, I think you can spam a message like "you showed up on my maybe you know this person" on the side, and I don't think I know you but you looked interesting so I figured I would say hi"

you can do this with all the hotties ever.

but I wanted to run it past you guys does that seem creepy? I'm freaking major bipolar and sometimes I forget social norms.

I think facebook makes those suggestions by showing you friends of your friends. Your line would make the most sense if you have at least the 'friend of a friend' connection. If you don't have that, you could "like" one of the same things she has, and maybe that is enough to explain the fb suggestion.

You can slowly build your network of hot girl 'friends' on FB, sure (through friends of friends, especially if you're good looking), but careful with spamming or doing too much. If you do it too much and people start reporting you, FB will automatically take progressively more drastic measures against your account for a certain period of time, and if you do it continuously anyway, you can get banned - blocking friend requests, blocking messages, etc.

Yeah I did that for a few days, I was very careful to make sure they were girls with whom I had zero mutual friends, but I was still worried about them reporting me to Facebook. I stopped.

Also, nowadays on Facebook, if someone you're not friends with sends you a message, it doesn't even show up in your inbox. It shows up in 'other messages' and you don't get a notification that it's even there

Friend request first, if they accept send a message. Don't do message before FR. There are plenty of cute girls who will friend you but won't respond to your messages because they don't know you, but at least now they're in your network and you can use that to further branch out, and SOMETIMES they decide to message you when you post some status or the stars align or whatever. It's a shotgun approach but it works.
