I'm trying to find out if there is any way to keep my bedridden mom's debt collectors at bay. I lost my job around xmas, pretty sh*tty that I got laid off for taking care of my dying mother. Anyhow, I would rather work when I can than collect UI. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever been in a situation where they had to spend all their time caring for a sick parent, and pay their bills as well as their own. Is their any temporary relief I'm unaware of?

That's rough, man.

Bankruptcy is about the only thing that will stop debt collectors, but if her health is that bad, it may not be worth the effort.

Good luck, regardless.

In hell. I'm Satan's lover.
My best friend's mom was terminally ill due to cancer last year. He got a bursary from his house at the university for about 2000$. If you're a student, it's probably the best thing to do.

I feel you brother. I've been dealing with my father's Alzheimers and dementia for almost 5 years now.

If it's any consolation, i'm going through something similar. My mom has a condition of the nerves where her muscles basically give her pain all the time.

She can't work because of this and I've been looking for a job for 6 months but no one wants to recruit a 16 year old with no experience, especially with the way the economy is.

Banks ring us up everyday...

Check with your Government to see if they have a care payemnt

Mate in Australian we have a regular payment for people that have sole or part care of a person in medical care need...like your situation. Check out the situation with your government and get some support. Call the Cancer or what ever the problem is Authority in your city.

Hang in there and take one day at a time. I've been there and although you will not believe it now you are stronger than you imagine.
