 For the past 4 months or so I've been having trouble sleeping, I just get real tired all the time and in the day I try to sleep when i'm tired but I have so many probs on my mind at te moment I just lie there thinking bout them and getting worked up bout them, and I usually now either stay awake all night or dont fall asleep till like 4 or 5 in the morning wen my body just cuts out.

It is really pissing me off cause it's effecting my days cause im constantly tired and gets me in a mood. Is there any tips for sleepin better ? getting yourself to sleep quicker etc and is there any herbal stuff or over the counter drugs which could help?

cheers

Melatonin seems to work for me. You also might need to revise your diet, eating a minimum of about 2 hours before you go to bed. Also, avoid simple carbs (quick released energy) before bed as well. About Melatonin though. Your body automatically makes it, its the 'hormone' or chemical that naturally makes you tired. Take it about a half hour before you go to bed, and you should be pretty good. Take too many and you might just be feeling it in the morning.

As for all your mental stuff ( i should've put this in the other post. oh well) you should maybe consider some meditation stuff to help you clear your mind. Or maybe keep a journal and write in it before bed, that way you can get it off your chest.

Bump on that. I sleep no problem with melatonin, but don't feel as rested and kinda groggy. But it does work.

I find that a good solid cardio session in the afternoon/evening (about 5 or 6pm) will really put me away that night.

Valerian Root. Works wonders for me..have always felt well-rested afterwards, even after only 4 hours of sleep. Try Nytol Natural.

You proberbly cant sleep because you worry about stuf, so keep a pen and paper close to the bed and write down the stuf, then you dont need to have it in your head and can relax better.

Any sort of large amounts of exercising (cardio and/or lifting) should be a minimum of 6 hours away from your bedtime to allow adaquate body 'calm down' time.

I agree, melatonin works. You don't need a lot of it though, 3mg should suffice. Couple that with AJs dietary recommendations and you should see an improvement.

milk contains tryptophan, not melatonion. It's the same stuff turkey has, and it does help you sleep in the same way that melatonin does.

So a little turkey washed down with some milk, and 3mg of melatonin ought to keep you good for the night lol
