Can I send a text message to ask her out?

im a college student, and im already pretty fond of the girl i want to ask out. we've hanged out before in groups, and im pretty sure she is interested in me. last time we hung out was a few weeks ago with a couple friends. she is fairly busy and involved in various activities, and i dont know her class schedule. ive never actually been with her one on one

is it ok if i just send a short, simple, and informal text message to ask her out to get something to eat sometime whenever she's free instead of calling her?

You sound like a chump AFC. (I'm just sayin) but no, call her. Keep the convo short and to the point. Go on some type of action date (Skating, Dancing, ect.). When you call her, assume she will say yes. Give her two dates to choose from, Tuesday or Wednesday. Whatever you do dont say anything along th lines of "Hi, please go out with me.." or "You wanna hang out sometime". Dont be a chump.

I would never ask someone out on a text message.. I would however confirm that plans are on or set a specific date or time on a txt after talking on the phone or in person about it.

it really doesn't matter these days. i've setup dates by calling, text, facebook, myspace, im.
