ive battled fatigue all my life, but i notice that when i have a fatty breakfast like eggs bacon and such, i feel pretty beat up for the following few hours. if i just have cereal or eat nothing at all, i feel more energetic. i need to probably start taking notes to make sure this isnt all in my head, but could the extra work im putting on my stomach with the high fat meals be making me tired? has anyone else experienced this???

thanks

If you get high GI carbs, like a lot of cereals, you'll get a blood sugar spike and be "energetic." In order to make the most out of REAL meals, like eggs and bacon, you need to work on raising your metabolism so it's providing you with a crapload of energy all the time...

if you have to much protein and or fat, will you get faitgue?

the short answer is yes.. and so is the long answer.

If you have more then you need you just put more stress on your system.

Not sure about UK's answer, but the most obvious reason you feel sluggish after a larger, more calorie dense meal, is that your body is pulling more blood to your stomach to fuel the digestive process. Now, if you suffer from something like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, it's just gonna multiply the effects.

Semag is right on though. Try eating some low GI carbs like oats, or at least some good multigrain bread with your eggs. They'll give you a longer, more steady supply of energy than some processed, sugary cereal. Oh, and take a multi. ;)

yeah exactly if oyu are digesting more it puts more stress on your system, your kidneys have to work harder and if your blood is needed for digesting there will be less to go round for oyur muscles.
