Right now, I'm struggling with what I want to be when I grow up. I'm 26, college graduate, make less than $20,000 and was getting ready to go to law school but decided thats not the path I want to take but at the same time I'm unsure of what I want to do. Any books I can read to find some purpose and direction in my life so my girl can see me as full man. I have the game down pat accept for my career and finance area.....Thanks on any advice...

Hey I am no expert advisor or anything, I am new here, but I will tell you this right now, DONT DO IT FOR YOUR GIRL, DO IT FOR YOU!! Your girl should see you as a man regardless of your education, job, or whatever, she should still be attracted to you, you do it for you. Now you say you dont wanna go to be a lawyer no more? May I ask why? All this time and work and investment just to let it all go down the drain? Did somebody discourage you or say something bad about lawyers or are you afraid of something? Dude, I say be a lawyer, and my advise, look to get into ownin your own business as well, but remember, do it for you, not for your girl. If she is really your girl, it should not matter for her sakes....do what makes YOU happy.

Top three interesting books

I suggest the following readings:

«The emotional intelligence» by Daniel Coleman.

«A road less travelled» by Scott Peck.

«The 48 laws of power» By a Mr. Spencer if I remember rightly. Somebody wrote these laws on the site about a month back. The book is extremely interesting and could save your ass in your lifetime.

Good reading

My girl doesn't say anything....She loves me regardless....It's more me...I don't discuss with her how I feel....This is something I deal with....If you read all the the stuff on the website...A woman likes a guy who has direction....I front like I do have direction but I really don't....I defered a year to make sure this is something I really want to do.....I talk to advisors, lawyers, law students and I realized it wasn't something I wanted to do....Initially, I went through the whole process because it seemed like a respectable profession...I even talk to a few counselors who told me that its good that I'm researching this now because they get alot of people who actually get their law degree and realize thats not what they want to do or students who finish their first quarter and realize this is not what they want to do for the rest of their life but they feel it is too late....I had several reasons for not going...1) I came to the realization that I don't want to be in law library researching stuff all day. 2) I want a 9-5 job....3) Salary of graduates from the law school is 35-40 starting out (Bottom Tier School)....I can get that now....I guess I feel if I'm going to do something and hate it then I want to make a lot of money and hate it...4) Debt would be 125,000....So, no law school would not make me happy...It's just that all my friend were going to grad school so I followed the herd.....Now, I just want to take time to think about life and what I really want....I'm doing what I love now, I just don't get paid jack....It's just a balance of doing something that I'm fitted for considering my talents and getting gettting a decent income for it...
