A few texts or a short call both subconsciously creates a feeling in her that you are a busy man (who doesn't have time for more, but you do have time for the date you setup with her in those texts or call). And this goes back to basics, DJ-101, women don't like men who are too available.
I agree with this, I used to be anti text, but really it's only bad if used in excess. After getting a girls number, a text is much more casual. If you call it's al a lot more intimidating even if you were gonna be chill and casual.
But yeah keep the texts really casual as we'll, it's easier to come across creepy or needy of text. Here's an example, this is actually a real convo from a while back.
