I recently broke my right wrist when I flew off my bike and just went to the doctors and got a cast for it. He told me that it'll take 3 weeks for it to heal. I'm really pissed off because I've been lifting all summer and don't want my gains to dissapear during that period. So my quetion is what should I do? should I continue workout my lower body and my left arm/side? or is that too risky for my right wrist? should I just wait for it to heal and do nothing?

Pretty much you're going to have to lay off lifting around your arms and such. Don't solely concerntrate on your left side, you'll create muscular imbalances, then probably put undue pressure on your right side to catch up, which can lead to nasty injuries.

Concerntrate more on your core for the time being, after all, core workouts will benefit everything in the long run. Can't hurt to solidify your quads/hammies/calves either.

Tough break buddy, but you just gotta be smart about it until you're back to 100%.

Breaking things sucks man :(

I know from experience...I've broken my ankle, knee, wrist, and right index finger(punched a pole while drunk :) dont ask lol)

Anyways, I fully FULLY recommend-and even urge-you to take physiotherapy AS SOON as you can. Especially with a complex break(wrist), you DONT want to lose movement or strength in it.

Go in ASAP to a physiotherapist(sports therapists are best) and get them to have a look at it and create a plan for you for when you get the gear off.

It might cost afew bucks, but its one of those things man...

Lay off the lifting-on both sides- for the 3 weeks(its only 3 weeks), and ask your physiotherapist about it when you go in.

Go ahead, keep working out!

There's no problem with working out, just don't put stress on your wrist for afew weeks. Yeah legs will be fine, just be conscious of your wrist and be careful not to fvck with it!

I'm telling you man, go to a physiotherapist...honestly, you WILL regret it if you don't. I didn't go to one for my ankle that i broke, and i don't have full range of motion for it anymore...I didnt for my index finger either, and it still hurts sometimes if i push it back into my hand...Honestly, go to a physiotherapist, ESPECIALLY for your wrist..

I broke my wrist before when I was lifting heavy and was sleepy. I bought the wrist supporter at the drugstore and continue working out but I try not to stress the wrist too much. My wrist actually heal faster as the result of my continue working out. Make sure you take Vitamine C and Multivitamine as they will help you heal faster.

Damn so you actually used ur wrist while you were lifting? or did you do other exercises and avoided the wrist completely cuz putting pressure on a broken bone would prob. make it worse... well if you were able to workout using ur broken wrist I might actually continue my lifting. :D
