Suppose you needed an extra $10,000 in the next 9 months.
If you ask yourself that question, your brain starts thinking "ok, how do I make $10 grand?" You might enter some contests trying to win the money, you might save some. But most people wouldn't have a real clear plan about it.
Now, here's the same problem, only worded differently. How do you save $37 a day? Seems alot easier. You could cut out a $3 a day Starbucks habit. You could use coupons. I could eat out less. You're probably half way there just doing those 3 things.
Often times, when you have a big goal, you've got to break it down into smaller components to make it seem attainable.
Instead of focusing on "getting a date with a hot chick" (when you even have trouble talking to girls), break things down so it's easier and more realistic in your mind.
Take the highschool nerd and ask him "ok, go screw the highschool cheerleader by prom" (what happens is, he freaks out). The first American Pie movie was based on this kind of angst. But if you told him:
Can you improve your posture? Sure. He can stand straight.
Can you wear some nice clothes? Sure.
Can you get some gel and spike your hair? Of course.
Can you repeat some affirmations so they sink into your subconscious? Sure.
Can you exercise? Sure.
The sum total of all these little things produces a guy that can ask out and pick up women. Any goal can be broken down into many individual steps.
Focus on the steps and the results will follow!
