Just start boxing training yesterday and it was a hell of a workout. But at the same time about a week ago I started a meal plan to bulk. Can I lift 3 times a week to bulk and box 2 times a week for that and cardio while still adding weight? I'm about 5'9" 150 and the mealplan has added about 2 pounds already. I was 130lbs when I started 8 months ago.

Thanks

Jake

I fight 6 times a week, weight train 3. I put on about 20 pounds last month. You can do it too.

And why you only gonna box 2 times a week? Gonna take forever for you to get any good like that.

You'll be fine. The level of boxing training that you are at now is recreational. When you get ready to think about competing, you'll step your training up to amateur level, which is still training almost every night. After you win ten or twenty fights, you can consider going pro. Then you'll train every day and every night.

It gets expensive, for me to train 3 times a week it would cost $80/month.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

Really? Mine is like 20 a session but it's 1 on 1 with Vassily Jirov. He won gold in cruiserweight in 1998.

Wow nice man. I was under the impression that most gyms did a monthly membership, and it was all you can train.

My gym here charges the normal guys about $150 a month if you train 6 times a week and $150 a month if you train once a week.

But I guess you are doing privates? I guess thats whats up.

I used to box 2 x a week in college and I def didnt gain any new muscle. I looked awesome from all the cardio but lost a little size and strength. You just cant serve two masters. Keep in mind I had already been weight training for 6+ years when I boxed. Now I've been lifting for almost 10 years, and I dont really gain NEW muscle unless I have anabolic support or make eating my second job.

So you might be able to, you will just have to really keep your caloric intake high and dont spare protein.
