Have you guys heard about there being estrogen-like chemicals that leak out of the plastic in bottled water? So that if you drink water from plastic bottles you are essentially taking estrogen? Is this something you are concerned about? And if so, what is your solution?

"Xenoestrogens" or exogenous compounds that have estrogenic effects on physiology are every where in our world. Why do you think girls nowadays are maturing much earlier than back in the day.

Soy products are known to have phytoestrogenic compounds so as a guy its best to avoid them. I'm not sure what the case is with water bottles.

As far as what you can do... estrogen blockers, both OTC supplements and pharmaceuticals like tamoxifen are potential options. Later in life you can opt to go on HRT and take supplemental testosterone and add in some estrogen blockers or perhaps an aromatase blocker. Aromatase is the enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen. I know I'll definitely be on HRT when I'm in the late 30s and beyond...

Zekko:

This issue with the plastic is once it heats up from what I understand. So if you buy a bottled water and down it within a short period of time you should be fine, nothing to worry about.

However, just to be on the safe side I bought a stainless steel 32oz water container from Bed Bath and Beyond...lol and its awesome. Also shelled out the 130 bucks for a Aquasauna sink water filter. In the long run I've saved an incredible amount of money on water since I'm drinking about 100oz a day.

Hope that helps bro.

Yes, these compounds are found in soft plastics, that's what gives them the flexibility.

I'm not concerned because I drink very little bottled water. Only when I need to. On the other hand, I drink lots of tap water which is laden with fluorine. It's pretty nasty stuff. Besides causing flourosis (brittle teeth) in children, it's been known to cause mineralization of various glands inside the body.

I definitely need to buy a reverse osmosis filter, something industrial quality. Regular water filters don't filter out flourine.

The problem with plastic bottled water is that you have no idea how it was stored. Many times they can be bottled and packed on large pallettes outdoors for months with a lot of sunshine hitting them before they even see a grocery store.

If you taste plastic, spit it out and dump it. I've bought more than one bottle that had that taste to it.

Best bet is to get a stainless steal jug to carry with you and a really good water purifier/distiler.

Buy some celtic irish seasalt and put a pinch in your water after it has been purified. This will remineralize it.

You shouldnt taste it but the water should feel thicker.

I stopped drinking bottled water several months ago for that one fact but also I got tired of constantly having to go buy more bottled water so now I only use my refrigerator filtered water.

The last thing I need to worry about is to start wondering what bra size I need to get.
