I know there are threads on here mentioning books to read but some are out dated. When I did a search for "books" there were a lot of posts that came up that I had to dig through to find value.

Just curious what books people are reading and/or suggest. For pickup, self improvement, etc..

The two that I recommend:

1.) Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
2.) The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene

And here is a good one that is free and short; As a man thinketh..

I've heard that "Getting things done" by David Allen is a good book, but I haven't yet read it.

Since you mentioned "self improvement", I recommend some good fiction.
It expands your mind, your vocabulary, actually makes you more adventurous, etc.

I agree. Here is a list from TheArtofManliness website. Its 100 must read books for men. Most of which are fiction and classics:

You can't read a book to become a black belt. You'll learn a lot more if you go out there and get experience. That's not to say that books are useless. Just that they shouldn't be your primary tool for learning.

The prince by Niccolo Machiavelli. Sun tzu's Art of war. Both the art of seduction (which i read before taking the red pill) and the 48 laws of power too.

I agree and wasn't my intention for this post. I believe reading to be a great way to improve inner game. I read a lot and about a lot of different things. Knowledge is power.

I just finished "A Whole New Mind" by Daniel Pink. Great book and very thought provoking but a tad exaggerated. But in general a very timely read.
