Hey

I'm curious about something. I've noticed that on a lot of guys, their traps don't show. It's not that they're skinny, but I can't figure out what it is.

The two guys in these pics ARE skinny, but you can clearly see one guy has a different bone structure than the other, and I'm wondering what exactly the difference is, whether one has broader shoulders or something completely different:

Pic 1:

This guy has a horizontal line running across the top of his chest, out to the tips of his shoulders:

Exaggerated example

Pic 2:

This guy has more of a V-shape in his shoulders, where instead of it being a horizontal line across his chest, it dips down in the middle quite abit more. It's not quite as clear, but I can assure you it's not because of the orientation of his arms.

I've been curious about this for the longest time, because I identify more with the second type with the V shaped shoulders. It might also be why my traps don't show, despite over 6 months of shrugs and other stuff. Any ideas as to what the difference is?

LolIt's cool that you're so interested in the science behind the aesthetics but could it be that your traps aren't showing because you aren't shrugging a good 400-500 lbs?

I have those traps youre talking about...the ones that REFUSE TO SHOW.

So I decided to make them start showing by doing insane sets of trap raises. Thats right, were talkign over 400 lbs on the barbell trap raises. Ones that MAKE your traps start showing. They may never look hugely upward, but they're getting thick, and they're up enough to start showing people I mean business.

looks like the guy in the first pic has broader shoulders and a larger shoulder span.
