Hey all,

Im hoping to receive a few hundred euro soon for a web design job im doing.

Ive always wanted a motorbike but ive always wanted to join a gym too!

If i got the bike, Id have to pay out a lot for insurance also (which would take a while to get the money for) but it would give me a lot of independence.

On the other hand, id like to gain weight/muscle and maybe buy the skinnyguy.net package. I could join a gym AND buy the skinny guy stuff for the money im going to receive.

What would you guys choose?

Also, how long does it take before u see a change in your physical appearance after joining a gym? And how long before u feel the mental gains from working out?

Thanks.

Depends how serious you are.
Gym isn't worth it if you aren't serious.

But if you are, I'd choose gym.

If you start doing all the skinnyguy.net stuff at once, you'll see SOME results in one or two months.
About the mental side, you start to feel better almost instantly.
At first it doesn't feel that good, but when you get to the new weights and you notice some difference the feeling is great.
Plus, working out makes you feel good every time you do it/few hours after it.
You'll get more energy of it.

Don't expect that you'll be Arnold in a year, though.
It's work.
But if you have some determination, you'll get results pretty easily.

Go for the gym stuff bro.

pay up front for a year and set some good goals. You are going to so love it when you see some changes.

As for the skinnyguy.net stuff, you can learn everything you need to know from weight lifting forums and this very forum here. Why not ask questions, let people know what you want to achieve and we can help you out.

Why not look at some of these routines for a start?

Good luck!

Thanks guys.

I was on the skinnyguy site and some people were gaining up to 7lbs per week?!

Can this be true?

I really wanna get the pack.

Worth it?

7lbs a week of muscle doesn't sound right though... too much. You know what I think, I think some of those fools are checking their weight at different times of the day. My weight can swing around 8lbs during the day! Weigh yourself first thing when you wake up before you get any food in you...

Silverwex what's you height and weight now?

Hey Mr Hash,

Im 5'10 and 140lbs.

Wanna get big! :)

Yeah its weird, the whole weighing thing. I weighed myself today and I was 145lbs. I changed my diet a small bit over the past week or two but not enough for such a big gain of 5lbs.

The max ammount of muscle you can gain a week is about 2lbs. Not including the extra fat.

In my opinion (since I don't like motorbikes), use the money and get a gym membership. Go to your local bookstore and read up on fitness; learn everything their is to know (don't trust one source, as they vary in opinion). Then, use your gym membership to it's full advantage! Weightlift 3-4 times a week, and do cardio on the opposing days.

Remember, in gaining muscle, you also want it to be active muscle, right? Theres a difference between useable muscle and non useable muscle (Powerlifting/Bodybuilding) which is all in your CNS (Central Nervous System; which you'll learn about when you start to research).

Make a plan that suits your lifestyle. Don't have one goal, have many realistic ones, and make sure everytime you conquer them you set newer more difficult ones.

Good luck.

Nah. Old wives tales (unless you actually go and take steroids or use improper form :p )

Another thing you have to consider is that the DIET you need silverwex costs alot of money. To get big you have to eat BIG! I spend around 25 dollars a day on food. The steak, fish and chicked breast daily is very pricey. Just keep that in mind. No point in working your ass out at the gym and having a ****ty small diet, you won't grow..

I don't get it....

AFAIK motorbike costs + insurance costs much more than a gym membership...

What does this mean?

Anyway ive decided to get the gym membership once i get the cash!!

How much would ya spend on food a day (with the skinnyguy programme) if you already had:

Eggs
Bread - White and brown
Pasta
Rice
etc

... at home? (As my mother already gets a lot of these).

7 lbs a week is an indication of the site's bogosity. It just isn't true.

I spend around 25 dollars a day on food.
Damn thats a lot..but I bet you're rather an exception..I dont think most ppl who work out spend 25 dollars a day on food. All I did was make some adaptions to eat more lean stuff thats high in protein, plus I drink 3 liters of skim milk a day (sounds a lot but after a while you get used to it and it isnt a problem at all anymore), which cost me like extra 1,50-2$ a day..other people might prefer protein powder to milk but at least where i live it costs about the same amount of money to get the extra protein from either one.
