Big guys (not muscular/athletic guys.)

I notice in real life and also pics of hot girls on facebook and the like, she's with a guy that isn't necessarily great looking in any respect...average face...but has a certain type of body...I can't really explain and don't feel like posting a pic...almost like a linebacker body...where the guy isn't muscular at all, and is "big" but not fat or obese...just has the big look and isn't necessarily handsome by society's standards.

Does anyone else find this to be the case?

Yeah, the "country" type chicks in particular love these guys. The "teddy bears."

Not all chicks like these dudes, everyone's got their own preference. But I've noticed the self proclaimed "country" one's really like these dudes.

I sometimes see cute short girls with these type of guys, they must feel protected around these guys. Gay guys call these "bears", college girls call them "tanks".

Yes, this is very common. You'll see plenty of these big guys with good looking girls. They're faces are often average at most, but women pick them because of their size.

Like Papi says, it makes them feel "protected." Plus, even more importantly, the girl can feel dominated in the bedroom. They love a big guy that can throw them around. One of my female friends confirmed this for me.

It's a problem for us guys that are average size and height. Tall girls don't want us because we're not taller than her with her heels. Standard Community and maintstream advice in that case is to "go for short girls." But the petite short girls want these "tanks" or a guy 1 foot+ taller.

Actually, as an experiment, I stayed at a club until closing time one Saturday night. Then when the club closed, I hung out outside just to observe. I didn't see one small or average size/build guy leave with a girl, even if he was a handsome dude <no homo>. Every guy I saw pull was either tall and/or built, or the "tank" type, regardless of his face.

I slightly disagree. Im average height and among my circle of friends who are taller and larger than me, I remember pulling more girls in my college days. Then again I have somewhat of a pretty/handsome face and Im built.

I also dated women who were my height (5-9) and even taller and they were not bothered by it. I see short guys with hot tall women all the time. But these short guys tend to be stocky/muscular and masculine looking (spikey hair, tatoos, etc.).

So its not always a given that a chick will always go for the bigger dude no matter his looks.

I do agreee however that alot of good looking women will go for these teddy bear guys. They just seem more approachable and like the op mentioned a woman generally likes to feel protected.

its always a combination of factors/attributes, and never just one attribute

there are always exceptions to everything, but in general this holds true

i've noticed many guys seem to focus on just one attribute of a guy or group of guys who they perceive to be successful with women

it seems to not be helpful and a case could be made that its counterproductive (to pick one of his attributes and focus on it)

he's big AND he's funny AND he's a challenge AND he makes her feel good, for example

she doesn't see a big guy a stop there. but if she prefers big guys, she is going to do her best to find a guy who meets the OTHER criteria she responds to, and is ALSO big

so him being big is NOT what gets him chicks.

as far as her feeling protected, that's important to most women. most of us guys don't have that need, so we don't necessarily relate to it or understand it. and her feeling protected isn't limited to just big guys of course. and some big guys won't make her feel protected at all.

Yes, this is what I've observed ever since high school days. My big brother was built this way and even though he wasn't handsome like a pretty boy, he was more a thug, and he had many hot chicks.

I guess it's the same for females the way guys go bananas when they see a "thick" voluptous curvy babe. These "thick" guys have a huge attraction advantage over smaller built guys. I guess it's all about "sins of the flesh" and when a male or female is endowed with being "fleshy" the sexual temptations come on strong.

You can test this out with girls by just saying who they would prefer to be with, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, (average body type) or The "Rock" Dwayne Johnson (big hunk type). All the females I've asked have always picked the Rock over those other pretty boys.

Makes me sad because I'm pretty much on the same caliber as Brad and Johnny as far as looks, and just knowing that the females I ask say they prefer The Rock or Vin Diesel over those other two because Pitt and Depp look to pretty. lol
