I am a rather large guy, I am 5'11, 240 pounds, I have already cut about 7 pounds, but would like to get down to 220 or so then see how I look, I am not that fat actually, I sound like i should weigh about 180 at my height, but I have a very wide build and a large chest, with big legs, that combination I would say puts my optimum ripped weight around 200 or so, but 220 would make me happy for now, I have no problem with strength or building muscle, I am 17 and bench 310, but want to cut weight as quickly as possible, while still gaining strength for football and for the weightlifting team of competitive lifting. Any advice/experience/ideas/techniques are all very appreciated.

Stick to a solid weight routine. Add some HIT cardio, and clean up your diet.

Your best bet is to sort out your diet first. Get protein, eat low GI carbs, and supplement well.

What is your diet like at the moment? And how frequently do you train?

I work out 5 times a week, bench and arms in one day 2 times a week, cleans and legs in same day 2 times a week, and shoulders and back once a week, for 2 hours a day, I am on the varsity high school weightlifting so I train very heavily, my strength is plenty high enough, benching around 315 legal max, but I am trying to get a 400 bench by next year at my age its possible, but my diet could be better, I have cut a lot of food, I eat better but not perfect, been eating very little lately in last 2 weeks, in order to cut 5 pounds for the next meet, which is 10 pounds total, but like I said I want to lose 15 or so more.

You overtraining. Anything more than an hour on the weights is actually counter productive. Its not a case of more is better. Quality over quantity.

Train your body one part a week. Put some cardio into it.
