I've read somewhere that for fat loss, the best time for doing the cardio activity is at the morning, before eating anything.

Does anything like this apply to lifting weights?

cortisol levels are the lowest in the evening, which means you can make the most out of your workouts then.

also, running on an empty stomach is a great way to lose muscle mass.

I believe the Skinnguy program says that?

For me, working out works best after I had i good meal 30-40 minutes before. Don't lift with an empty stomach.

I've read that running on an empty stomach doesn't do any further noticable harm if you actually eat "enough" proteins throughout the day.

I don't know about cardio before eating anything, but I tried to lift once like this. I was going to my classes (which usually starts 8 a.m.) and went to the gym BEFORE them.

Dude, it sucked big time. I couldn't lift a pen!

But what I read was about cardio, that's why I'm asking.

I usually do cardio at 10 a.m., and when I wake up (around 8 a.m.) I eat like there's no tomorrow. :)

I used to lift/cardio at the evening, like MindOverMatter said. But for time reasons I changed it to 10 a.m.

So I stick around with my thing? :)

I do cardio right when i wake up. Noting crazy, just sit on a bike and pedal away til my heart rate is up and then watch tv or something for about 45 min. From what I've learned (coming from skinnyguy.net) you will be just doing cardio on an empty stomach.

I guess you could say there are two conditions, thought. I still workout three times a week to counter act a low caloric diet and the cardio which might cause a small mass loss. I also don't do any HIT type stuff, its just riding a bike at the same speed for 45 min. so you shouldn't be tearing down any muscle which needs repair, causing further muscle loss.

You shouldn't EVER lift weights on an empty stomach, thought. That's muscle suicide. :)
