I've been using Optimum Nutrtions Serious Mass.

I was just curious if there are better gainers out there, home made recipes you guys use.

I usually drink one scoop in the morning, mix with 705ml of milk, two bananas, and a teaspoon of peanut butter. Then repeat later at night.

Here's a link with their nutritional information.

I want to check out my other options before I put in another order.

better to make your own, talking some casein protein powder + oats + good fats like natty peanut butter/almond butter or olive oil

Have heard things about Real Gains by Universal though and it has casein in it...

make sure you are keeping the fat levels low as you gain. You don't want to gain 2lbs fat for every lb of muscle.

Weight gainers are a waste of money. Eat more calories than your caloric maintenance level and you will gain weight. In the end, losing/gaining weight all comes down to calories in vs. calories out. Google a caloric calculator to find your maintenance level and eat above that.

Ignore the post about eating fat making you fat. Eating fat has absolutely nothing to do with actually gaining fat. Unless of course he meant not eating an excessive amount of calories and putting on way more fat than muscle, then yeah.

You are not counting each bodytype separately. Ectomorphs have a hell of a hard time gaining weight EVEN when eating higher then their base rate. Endomorphs also gain weight faster because of carb sensitivity.

collosus-

That upyour mass powder is basically just oats for carbs, some weird crap "PROBOLIC® Amino Acid Enhanced Sustained Release Protein Matrix " which is basically soy protein , casein , whey protein concetrate and leucine.

I could buy all that by itself and not gain useless weight becasue of all that other crap.

You could. I like ready-made powders sometimes, and as far as gainers go I like MHP's. The PROBOLIC matrix is just their signature protein blend. It sounds fancy but it's just a blend of whey's and casein.

Making your own gainers is really easy, but problem is you cant always be around your kitchen and a blender.

Yeah, ectomorphs have a faster than average metabolism. That doesn't really change anything. All that means is you will have to eat more calories than the average person at your size/age. If you keep upping your calories, I absolutely, 100% guarantee you will start gaining weight once you find your caloric sweet spot.

Sure, some endomorphs are carb sensitive. So are some mesomorphs and ectomorphs. In my opinion, that has little to do with your somatype. If you feel that is a factor for you in putting on too much fat, reduce your carbs and pay close attention to GI. My opinion anyway.

^ What he said. It's because its very easy to over indulge on fats.

If you're an ectomorph, then ignore this rule. You'll need all the calories you can get.

The easiest way to put on fat is to eat processed sugary foods and anything with white flour. Basically simple carbs.
