I live in Dallas, TX. The city is ok but I can't stand the weather and desperately want to leave. Need suggestions of places to check out.

Ideal climate for me is fall, between 25-60 degrees with a low dew point. Short summers, I like cloudy weather but as long as it's cool I can deal with the sun.

I also need a place with a lot to do. I'm not talking about bars or clubs, I'm not into that... more of a family scene, lots to do on weekend nights for families.
A beach and/or mountains would be a nice change since ive never had that, although optional.

I'm mainly looking at Seattle, Denver or Pittsburgh, anyone want to add? If Seattle didn't have so much drizzle it would be my perfect city. Cold, overcast and DRY all the time would be heaven for me.
I want to visit about five places this year and get more info on them so two more suggestions would be good.

Avoid Pittsburgh, its a dead city... went to college there

New York City is my suggestion, i'm here.. great night life, but also very cultural places, chinatown, japantown, koreantown, beaches, great views, museums, very classy centers like tribeca, east village, long island city, long island, ect...

Can't beat it

Lately I've been really interested in sometime moving to Portland Oregon.

Supposed to be a very nice, progressive city, ideal for outdoorsy people. Lots of parks and stuff, close to a mountain, close to the coast, etc. Plus it's less than a day's drive from San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver. I think it has a decent youthful population too, which I'd like. Weather should be better where I'm currently at, anyway (wisconsin).

I can totally relate to prefering fall weather. I LOVE the fall, which is why I was so pissed that it lasted about a week and a half here.

Tallinn, Vilnius, Riga, Kiev, Warsaw, Bratislava, Sofia, and Chisinau (if you are a bit crazy). I would advise any single American male to look into any of the above places. Russia is great as well. However, the visa requirements can be an issue if you are staying for a longer period of time.

A move to any of these places means that you can forget about becoming a Don Juan. Every western guy that lives in these places gets girls that he only sees on magazine covers back home (if he wants them). Plus, they are all really nice places to live (save for Chisinau) if you are a western male. Cost of living is much cheaper in each place than it would be in a decent size American city. I would say that Sofia and Warsaw would be the two cheapest towns. Kiev might be the most expensive because of the lack of western style apartments. Kiev probably wins the award for best looking girls on earth. Very friendly girls as well.

If you don't have huge amounts of personal debt and are single I would definitely look into one of these towns.

P.S. NYC is a crazy choice unless you are worth a small fortune. It might be the center of earth, but you gotta have mega bucks to get the most from that place.

Maybe Albuquerque? I have some relatives there, and they say it hardly ever gets hot. Many homes do not have air conditioning.

Channel your excited feelings into positive thoughts and behaviors. You will attract women by being enthusiastic, radiating energy, and becoming someone who is fun to be around.

Portland is starving for culture - it's a fetid blight on the Columbia River. Move to Seattle :)

Denver is awesome. I live in Colorado Springs which is an hour south and Denver is the sh*t. Denvers got a good scene if you ever do wanna go to a bar or club or anything. Plenty of bands come to down. Good food downtown. Of course you cant forget about the ski resorts that are an hour away, six flags, broncos and nuggets game and im sure theres more stuff that i dont know about. Check out Ft Collins as well; its an hour north of Denver, a college town, but it was ranked the number one small city to live or something.

I say Denver. It's the best city for singles (Forbes Magazine agrees). It has the best looking active women in the States in my opinion.
