Master Don Juan
This afternoon, I got turned down for a date to the movies over text. So what did I do? Instead of moping around, I went to the movies anyways and just enjoyed myself....(though I kept wondering why she turned me down on my way there.)
If you're a fan of Jaws, Jurassic park or any predator movies, this movie might be just for you. Idris Elba was great in this flick. He played the protagonist who seems to be a mix of MacGyver and Dr. House. Good with tools and human anatomy and healing.
This flick was typical in the sense that in the beginning they try to connect you to the main characters by telling a side story about themselves, so it may start out slow at first. The action was alright and pretty good. A lot of it is CGI so it is what it is. The fight in the end between Idris and the Lion is symbolic to the struggles we face in everyday life. We have a lion mauling us, taking us down to the ground and sometimes we may need a little help from a few people.
Like I said, if you're a fan of Predator movies you'll love this movie. If you're also a fan of african culture, you'll also like this movie lol. I give this one a B +.
On a side note, I will never go traveling at night on my ebike on Philippine traffic again. I could have killed myself out there and caused an accident. Next time, I'm hitching a ride home. : )
