I have a male friend who banters with his female friends all the time, sometimes they initiate the banter. I have heard them call him a pusher over and other things associated with powerlessness, in other words they don't respect him. They tell each other to shut up or they'll tease each other in this kind of way.
I have a different friend who is great with girls and he banters with them as well. For this friend, girls always have good things to say about him, in other words they respect him. But even when I see this friend banter with girls it doesn't come off as very alpha.
Any ideas what my friends might be doing wrong?
Should banter be done with girls? If so how does one do it successfully?
Is there any sub communications to look out for when bantering with girls?
I am relatively new to the Machiavellian concept of managing power in social situations, especially with girls, any advice helps.
