A kiwi in a very bad disguise of a dutchman :P
I dont think this is the right question for this post.
Im sort of balding to the point you can see it so I was wondering if I could get some advice?
I have short/medium length hair should I grow it longer for a better hair style or should I dye it blond then it is less visible(male friends say I look gay and some female friends say that too but most dont) or should I shave my head completely but does a bald head suit overweight guys?

Wow, another guy on this forum who's losing his hair.

As some may know I've b!tched about this more than a few times in the past. What you do should depend on a few things - how much hair you've lost, where you've lost it, etc. Generally though you want to avoid growing your hair longer because it will look like a comb-over. I've had an overwhelming number of girls tell me that shaving it is way better than a comb-over. If anything just keep it short. Dying your hair is something that I'd personally stay away from, but who knows it might suit you. Ask a few girls that you trust. Shaving it is also in style right now, so you and I are at least lucky in that respect.

Does a bald head suit an overweight body? Not usually. The good news is that you can do something about your body. Start a diet and workout routine, now! You will look and feel better, and you won't worry as much about losing your hair.

Also, look into taking propecia. It is the best FDA approved hair-loss drug, you take a pill once a day (as opposed to Rogaine where you have to put this oily crap on your head twice a day). It may not regrow any hair but it will prevent you from losing more.

It depends on the chick. But in my male opinion, a balding guy with long hair looks like either Bozo the Clown or some sort of trailer trash. But that's just my opinion.

Trim it. Shaved only works with certain head shapes. It is also high maintenance. If you trim it to, say, 5/8 inch with one of those electric trimmers with adjustable combs, you only have to do it every couple weeks or so.

And yeah, lose weight.

Hey Jango_Xavier, I am with BobbDobbs on this one! oh gosh I got the entire visual on that one!

Try a flat top or short type hair style but DON'T PULL that Mr. Clean scene!
Just short and simple and throw some of that ICE gel sorta spike it up a bit should look okay then. :D

Definitely keep it short. I think it looks much better. Also try Rogaine too. I'm using Extra Strength Rogaine myself, but just started so I don't know how effective it really is yet(I have a receding hairline, which Rogaine isn't meant to be used for).

Balding sucks. But don't let it get you down too much.

I'm also struggling with losing my hair. I use Propecia and it does work, but it only stops the hair loss. It doesn't grow hair. At least not for me.

Rogaine sucks. I hardly ever put it on in the morning and I don't see how they can realistically expect you to. It makes your hair wet so you can't comb it correctly (and wet hair makes you more bald-looking), and then it dries on your scalp and flakes off during the day...So you'll have little chunks of white dried-up rogaine coming loose and sitting in your hair. I had one humiliating moment when a girl I had a crush on saw a little flake in my hair and was like "what's in your hair?? here let me get it for you!" She never figured out what it was but that was enough to make me stop using the Rogaine.

Why not? It works for Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel, etc. I've surveyed quite a few girls to find out what would be the best thing to do, and most of them said to shave it. The big difference is those guys are in shape. Thus, if you work out you won't have to worry about losing it.

By the way, I agree with the Rogaine stories. I tried it and had the same experience. Rogaine sucks balls, Propecia is the way to go.

I have a full head of hair, but shave it vin dielsel style, and yes i do have a nice body...6 feet, 200 pounds, not fat. And i have to say that before I shaved it i had the typical guy ceaser cut...short combed forward..etc. But since I shaved it you would be amazed at the attention I get from the opposite sex. It think it helps to have a nice shaped head and be in shape. Not to mention the fact you have no idea how nice it is to wake up in the morning or get out of the shower and not have to style your hair-its maybe the best thing I have ever done to myself besides laser corrective eye surgery. Not to mention all the money I save from not having to go to the barber because I just shave it myself with a pair of clippers.

So my rec. Get in shape, and shave that head-youll love it!!!

I've been lossing my hair since high school. I've got that Frazier look right now.

I've been using Rogaine, and it does work to a certain extent. NO. You do not put it in your hair. You use the eye dropper and apply it to your scalp. It will dry. I then use hair jell and comb my hair straight back.

I don't think Rogaine has made hair grow back, but has made the fine little ones come in thicker and the "fall out" has seemed to havce stopped.

The girl I'm with right now digs balding guys. Ed Harris is her favorite actor and says I look exactly like him.

This week I'm gonna get it cut short. Basically a buzz cut. About 1/4" long on top, shorter on the sides.

Did you see Bruce Willis in The Jakal? Blonde hair? Did look a lttle gay, but less noticeable...

Sheesh, you people make such a big deal out of this.

I've been losing my hair since I was 19. It really ISN'T that big of an issue, unless you make one of it.

I was watching TV the other day, and the chick I'm dating made it a point to express two different celebs that REALLY do it for her. First one was LL Cool J. Second was Vin Diesel. Those are the ONLY two she made any kind of comments about. No Colin Farrel, no Tom Cruise, noone with hair.

Okay, okay, both of them have the bodies of gods, but they also have no hair.

Guess who else has the body of a god with no hair? ME! (Well, I'm working on the body of a god part anyways) This leads me to believe she was attracted to me because of the dome, at least partially. Doesn't hurt that I have decent guns too, I'm sure.

Met another chick at a club awhile back. Got a good grind session going with her, she was even supposed to party at my place afterwards (till her friend fukked it up but thats another story). The next week I see her again, once again she's ALL OVER ME, telling me how she was dreaming about rubbing my head and sh!t.

Point is all you have to do is shave it off and get your ass to the gym. A SHAVED head (no Dr. Phil look) can be as much of a sexual turn-on for a woman as a turn-off. Probably more of a turn-on for most.

Might be the BEST thing you've ever done for your dating life.

Exactly, Do NOT just get the buzz look if you want to get the hunies-thats kind of wussy. Get a set of clippers, use no guard and set the setting to the shortest possible length. Then buzz away. Also, do not shave it with a straight razor or a bic or whatever, leave just that tiny bit of stubble on their-take it from a guy who always worried about his hair and was almost obsessed with it, this is the BEST thing I have ever done besides my eye surgery. I cant tell you how free you are and the lack or worry about styling your hair. Youll think youll look like a concentration camp survivor for a day or so until you get used to it and get some color to your scalp, but girls go for it bigitme.

LOL, right on!

Buy a Norelco and hit that baby every day. You won't be sorry, and you'll become MUCH LESS self conscious about it.

Oh yeah word on becoming less self concious about it. Plus one other thing I forgot to add, and this may sound kind of different but whatever. I have noticed since I shaved my head the reaction from GUYS has been to the same extreme. When your walking down the street or in a crowded club and some guys are walking dierctly towards you, 99% of the time they get out of the way for you, or give you a look like your some kind of tuff guy. Im not saying Im a bad ass or anything like that, though I can hold my own, but the new found respect other guys give you with a shaved head is something I just cant explain. And that really helps with the self confidence issue, and even more so when your working out.

We're making too big of a deal about it? My ass! We are LUCKY that right now the shaved head look is in, like I said already. If this were the 80s we'd be much worse off. I don't care what people say, it sucks and the ladies DO care. Why is it that in EVERY post in this forum that deals with looking better, one of the FIRST things that is always listed is... get a new hair style. Its not just this site either, its everywhere. Take a look in the latest Cosmo and tell me how many guys in there have bald heads. Now lets see, what demographic is Cosmo targeted towards? Hmm... 18-25 year old women.

Losing your hair isn't the end of the world, and sitting around *****ing about it doesn't help. But its psychologically devastating and it makes things worse when people criticize you for feeling down about it. I would RATHER have hair, but if I can't then shaving is the way to go. Yeah, its nice to not have to style it in the morning or go to the barber but how many years of this can I stand before I want to change the way I look? I'm stuck with this for the rest of my life.

Do you wear hats? Ball caps and such.

I think they make people lose their hair.

Sad thing is once it starts to go thats when you want to wear one.

Dude, I've seen your posts on this before, and I'm sure the same insecurities that you project in your posts show right through when you are dealing with women.

Like I said, it's all what you make of it.

I GUARANTEE that most any woman would choose a buff, tan, bald headed dude over a guy with even an AVERAGE body with a full head of hair. And most guys have average bodies.

Muscles+shaved head=wet panties. Trust me.

Get your ass to the gym and stop complaining!

I am 29 now, started losing hair when I was about 26. Right about that time I decided it was time for a pre-emptive strike and I shaved my head (been doing it ever since). I happen to be in good shape, eat well, and thanks to this site and sources for self improvement, I really don't give a F@#& about the fact that I am going bald. Since I have been shaving my head and working on myself, my ability to attract hot women keeps improving. going bald is a non issue for me.
