Today I tried something that I heard Craig does and seen some naturals do. I've done it but not knowingly.
Baiting.
It is simple really. You throw out little comments to the world. It can be anything from a "Hi" to a remark about a way a girl is walking. The trick to baiting is that it is just that a bait. When you bait, you throw out a remark and move on. The easiest remarks to throw out to girls are ****y and funny. To guys, if i know them, I toss out a "How are you doing?" or "What you doing today" or a simple handshake. If I don't know them, I just say "What up." I did this alot today. Sometimes people remark back, sometimes girls stopped me to have a small conversation.
The key to make friends is familarity so even if the person doesn't even know your name, if they see you enough and say Hi or whatever, they feel like they know you. This takes away alot of pressure of approaching guys and getting popular or known.
The another way to describe the brillance of baiting is that most people go around life being passive, if you choose to be active in life you'll will go further. I was the most social I've been all year. Sets were easier. I was able to make more jokes and have more fun in general.
Two examples:
~Walking behind a girl who is moving slowly
Me: (as I walking by her) I think you just broke the world record for the slowest walker ever
~Walking towards a girl walking with a weird posture
Me: (this girl was holding her arm out, stiff, against her purse. I copycat her) Do you always walk like this?
-She stopped me and we talked for like a minute due to the fact I was going to meet another girl and I just walked away. SHe remarked, laughing, "you're randomn". I could have continue but decided not to. My guess I'll say her again and she wave at me.-
The main idea is just to be active in your world. Most people are passive and as a DJ, it is your duty to be different. Be a more active part of the world. It is the easiest way to warm up. Give it a try.
