Back and Leg day

Just wondering if its a gud idea to train both back and legs on the same day or would that be too much for one day.

Why would you make up your own training program when you could get one written by a professional. Don't write your own programs unless you've had years of successful experience.

Depends, if you can't train many sessions it can work but ideally it's better to train them seperate IMO to put all you've got into both.

I would avoid doing deadlifts and squats on the same day, since they can both fatigue the lower back and create a potential for injury. I set aside a whole day just for legs and it has worked out pretty well.

From personal experience, it's too much.

Sure if you're doing some light endurance/conditioning back & leg training it's fine, but if you're lifting heavy, then... just no.

At the end of a good Legs day, I can barely walk afterwards, doing another heavy and intense workout is OUT OF THE QUESTION.

But, its up to you. Try it and see how you feel, just remember to keep the intensity high.

he speaks truth.

i wouldnt try deadlifts and squats on the same day if ur training heavy.

bad idea.....unless it's part of a program like rippetoe. if you're asking basic questions like this, though i suggest you get on a program like rippetoe or the other starter programs suggested here.

It is probably going to be an individualistic thing. I read powerliftinguk and see AndyBolton and the guys he trains with doing squats+deads on the same day. And his training group ranges from intermediate to elite. He is the deadlift record holder and was the squat holder until recently. I also see him recommending it on his forum.

I have recently being doing it myself. If you want to try squats+deads, then put the squats first and use a low rep range. I have been doing front squats 3x3 followed by rack deads 1x3, 1x10. PR'ed on them both yesterday. I would never do a 1x20 on squats and then deads though, bad idea.
