There are some good lists floating around the site if you search for them.

A couple things I would suggest that aren't as "functional" as what was listed above me but needed to create a good atmosphere;

Artwork - Doesn't need to be expensive but does need give a "mature" vibe(not a poster of your favorite band)

Some kind of plant - Subtly shows a girl you can take care of and keep something alive and gives a room a green feeling

Couple interesting magazines on your coffee table - Gives your guests something to flip through when your out of the room

Photos of you with family, friends, in front of cool scenery, etc

Keep on hand a couple bottles of wine, couple different kinds of liquors with mixers and a couple different types of beer/fruity alcohol drinks for females.

Definitely leather couch.

I'm Mike32ct and I approve this furniture!

They are perfect in front of the television.

I had this female over. We never made it to the bedroom and went at it 3x on the leather couch.

(Plus they are easily to clean... time permitting.)

After she left, one of my buddys came over and asked if he could crash on my couch because he had to be somewhere early in the morning not far from me. He fell asleep shortly after. Never had a chance to clean the couch first lol.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

@ Mike32CT: "Dude did you make fish or fart or something? I dunno it just smells funny..."

Keep wipies in the bathroom so the ladies can freshen up after, and your a$$ never smells.

Get something that can play video from your computer to your tv.

Get a friggin BBQ for the love of god! I prefer a gas smoker I seal up to cook at higher temperatures than 200 degrees lol.

Extra tooth brushes.

A good playlist girls love.

Congratulations. You paid your dues but that's the way to do it.

Quality vs quantity. A nearly empty room with a really nice couch and lamp is better than a bunch of Rooms To Go crap. Keep it masculine. No nicknacks and stuff that gets dusty. Take each room one by one and make it a place where people will want to spend time.

A mini bar with wine storage is nice (Eurocave or cellar if you are up north).

Stereo with surround sound. Bookcase (but hide the Art of Seduction).
