Is there any place in Australia (preferably in/close to Queensland), which is a little like Las Vegas/ Cancun partywise?

Surfers Paradise - Sth Queensland

Cairns

Port Douglas

All of those have plenty of women and nightlife, there are other places with plenty of women but quieter nightlife, which I'm assuming you're not looking for.

Oh yeah..I've heard about surfers paradise before (had forgotten the name). Actually I've been told the chicks there were really bold and far from timid and where people go to spend their (party) vacations...basically what I imagine Cancun or Las Vegas to be like. I'm from Europe so I've never actually been there..but we have such "party spots" where people go on vacation for a week or two and basically do nothing but lay on the beach at day and drink/fukc at night :D . I was just wondering if Surfers Paradise (or any of the other two u named) were anything like that.

oh and..one more question (dont need 2 open a new thread for this): Is australian english (except for some special australian expressions of course) a lot different from american english? I mean..of course its not "a lot" different as its still the same language, but do you guys say things like "gotta" instead of "I have (got) to" for example..?lol just asking...Im not really worried or anything just curious.

Australian English is very similar to American English, with pronounced differences in accents.

If you are fluent with American English then you won't have a problem in Australia - after all, we get American TV/movies here too!

Australians have a few words that Americans don't recognize, but communication won't be a problem.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

madgame, surfers paradise is definently the best place. and november/december the best time.

I went for 10 nights 13th->24th december 2003 (from memory).

In that time i lay 3 girls.

I went with 4 friends, 3 of them lay a girl each. the one who missed out is about 140 kgs pure fat.

We were soft. I'd been coming to this site a little, but not very long. and if i knew what i know now, i'd have lay 6+ girls i think.

I had 2 in the first 2 nights!

in the time i was up there i had a ticket for the "miduri party week" (which changed its name to the triple M party week).

this ticket cost $100, and u got T-Shirt/toga/stubbie holder etc. + entry into 10 events.

mainly themed night club nights.
beach party
toga party
ball room
80s night

etc. etc.

also a horse race meet.

i assume you're looking to come out here.

keep in mind that australia's summer starts in december.

I strongly recomend the party week. although we didn't go to every event, we did go to a few, and it was well worth it.

from late november->late december (possibly more even longer?) they also have many party cruises.

when u cruise around the streets in the day time people will say "Hey come on this party cruise" it was $35 and you cruise on a boat for a few hours drinking and dancing and what not. lots of people, lots of fun. again, free t-shirt + crowd photo.

the girls are hot, being that surfers paradise is right on the beach.

you want to stay close to "Caval Avenue" which is the hottest street there.

i think i stayed about 800 metres away and strolling home after a big night was no problem because it was always still warm.

ALSO! make your moves kind of early.

the last night i was kissing this chick in a club, we left together at 5AM. i wanted to bang her on the beach.

TOO BAD THAT ITS SUNNY AS HELL AT 5AM! she wouldn't come back to my place cause she had work in the morning (local girl) and she said, "we woulda had sex if u took me home a couple of hours ago."

I won't make that mistake again.

I'd be happy to tell you more, but this is prob enough.

PM me if u want.

EDIT: about the australian/english language.

watch a couple of episodes of neighbours. i'm sure you won't have any problem with any of the words they say.

no one i've met from over seas (english speaking countries) had any problems communicating with me.

another EDIT: i also hear great keppel island is AWESOME around new years. thats off the coast of queensland somewhere.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I think surfers paradise will definetly be the place for me to go. If you live in brisbane are there any possibilities to get to surfers paradise and back by public transport? I heard it was about 85km which isnt that far (but well public transport opportunities/costs vary so much depending on the country/place..). Plus I heard there were shuttle buses going to the gold coast, but well I have no clue if these shuttles are offered at night, too..

Oh and about the language..I know I really won't have any problems..I mean I can understand british english without a problem too (if they dont have too much of an accent)...I was just curious about a few things but I guess Ill see when Im there..thanks tho

Mate you'll be fine. Luckily for you, there's enough people in your position to create a market for people like you.

There are heaps of buses and stuff to Surfers. You'll get there no worries.

How old are you ?? If you arn't to old (21 or older) i would go during schoolies time, which is basically like spring break for the USA. Most people go to Surfers or Byron and party hard, remember these people are like 17-19 as they just finished year 12. Look up the dates since different states have dif weeks. But try organise to be there then, and you should be able to get some *****. :cheer:

wrong. you don't want to be 21 on schoolies. my mates went up to surfers last year as 21 year olds. they got called toolies and couldn't get any play.

these kids are warned of older people going there all through the school year.

the week i spoke about (triple M party week) is perfect. it actually still falls in the schoolies week schedual, but the crowd is ever so slightly older. (schoolies week goes for a month. odd i know.)

also, i wouldn't go to byron bay.

its basically surfers or bust.

i'd imagine byron bay is just NSW's version of phillip island, i've done schoolies at phillip island twice.. week.

i've got 3 or 4 pics with this pimp from partyweek when i went! (just been checking out the website)

http://www.partyweek.com.au/

thats the website of this.. doesn't appear to be the triple M party week.

the 2003 party week was featured on "Wild On" which if you're not familiar, is a travel show going specifically to party places.

2003 is the year i went, i never knew wild on was there!

maybe i'm on TV!
