Here's an interesting study from the University of Exeter.
It says that newborn babies prefer to look at attractive faces than unattractive faces. This suggests that people are hard wired from birth to prefer attractive people.

Just more grist for the "looks matter/don't matter" mill.
I certainly would not suggest that only looks matter, or that if you unattractive game cannot help you overcome it. I'm just saying obviously it is a factor.

I went to the Exeter Uni. Sounds about right...probably three years of work to state the bleeding obvious.

man, you guys can sure beat a topic to death over and over and over and over and not provide any new information.
Its like some of you all are so hungry to fail...

you know, I come here always thinking there's probably a bunch of cool folks in here who know some stuff...and I seem to not be able to shake that feeling, but I just got to realize that some of you will forever be an effect and never a cause in life.

I wish i could go one month without seeing a "looks" thread. all you're doing is contributing to the belief that attractive people are better, its that stupid belief that has a lot of guys in the crappy position they are in now.

There's always "this one guy", but I agree, looks dont matter much. Maybe they get some attetion, but if you cant act on it, you've come no further than anyone else. It's like having knowledge without putting it to practice.

I will confess that the reason I posted this was for the benefit of a certain poster who is always talking about "72 Nobel Prize Winners". I thought I would post an actual scientific study that he could look at.

No, it doesn't. What babies find easier to make out with their blurred version says nothing about what women look for in a potential mate. You drew a false conclusion from a six-year old study. The study DOES say that infants prefer Vivaldi played forwards instead of backwards, so this may indicate that adults preferences in music may be similar to that of infants. Very nice.

Well said. That's exactly right. It's always nice to have people who know what they're talking about on these miserable inexplicably unbanned threads.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.
