Hey, about a year ago, i decided to make changes to my body after reading the "Zone Perfect" eating plan book.

I understood more about how carbs affect your body so I decided to cut drinking regular pop, eating candy, eating fast food, and balancing out my meals.

I lost about 55 lbs.

I whent from 215 to 155.

I've maintained that weight since then but i'm still flabby.

I'm about 5' 9", which means i'm at a healthy weight.

What would any of you guys suggest for getting more lean? I can see my abs sticking through but there is still flab there (as well as my chest and the rest of my body).

I've noticed my arms are WAY lean though. The veins stick out all the time now (something ive never experienced in my life before).

My guess is that i need to try a lot of cardio since i already have a good amount of muscle mass. I'm surprizingly stronger and have a bigger muscle structure than most of people my height and age.

thanks!

Ok, thanks a lot, i'll keep that in mind. Yea, i just ran for about an hour and a half. I got motivated :D .

Anyways, yea, i'll definitely stay strict on what i eat, and i'm gonna have a running routine from now on. My private road is all hilly so i get a lot of incline.

Thanks again!

Hit the weights too and fill your skin out a bit. It's probably slightly stretchy from all the weight loss, and you're going to need to pack on a little bit of muscle to make your body look nice and solid.

Goodluck with that last bit of belly man :)

Hmm, thats a thought,

I was also wondering, because of my weight, do you think I could have extra skin, contributing to the flabbier look as well ?

It's a high possibility. I just think adding a bit of muscle to your structure makes you feel, look, and radiate health. It's a real good feeling to look at yourself and think you look excellent. Above average. Different.

It's not for everyone though. Have a think about how you see yourself in a perfect world. Hell, you lost that many lbs, you've already shown you have the dedication to make yourself look better. I guess you could make this a perfect basis for becoming everything you wanted to be. In body and mind.

:)

Yea, I feel hella sore (its the day after that little run hehe). I'm gonna work on my muscles (mainly my upper body and abdomine) and get them stronger as well as doing more cardio workout, something i need to do in general.

Hmm, what I've heard around here is that you can't really isolate what you train...or something like that. But by stronger stomach do you mean...ABS? or er....I dunno..

I think you mean rock hard abs. In that case, do you probably want them to show and such...cuz you're refering to your flab. chill man. I have some flab too. Top ones a re showing..bottom part is flab. So just watch your diet, do a lot of cardio (not over like 45 min cuz then it starts burning muscle). At least that's what I've gathered from the DJs on this site. Er...might wanna post your diet.

Well, i follow a basic "Zone perfect" diet plan. (if any of you know what that is). I maintain a 40-30-30 ratio for my carbs, fat and protein.

In the morning i usually have a protein shake and a low glycemic carb like bran cereal or something.

For lunch, i usually stick to something balanced, either a shake with a balance of sugar and what not (i follow the recepies in my booK).

For dinner, well, usually what my mom cooks hehe. She's on it too though, so everything is relatively balanced.

Like i said, i've stopped completely eating candy/cookies/cake whatever, pop, chips, all that. Its totally eliminated from my diet.

I try to keep fast food down to like once a week (some times you gotta live man).

Run for 20 minutes when u first get up without eating anything. Your body will dip straight into your fat content to create energy for your body.

This will do more for you than 1 hour of your regular cardio!
