Asking this girl out. Which way?

I got a number from a girl in my class. We are going to be in a study group together. I am def gonna ask her out.

But the particulars I had questions about. She asked me to send her some file and I was thinking of sending it to her but saying under only one condition that she goes out with me.

Now I was wondering should I do that in an email, or call her up, she gave me her number, she gave it to me even though I didnt ask for it.

I was thinking a text maybe like " hey, I got your file but in return you're gonna go out with me next week "

Or should I just call her and do it over the phone? I feel like text is impersonal and I can't use my voice and joke voice to make it fun.

Well for starters, that line sounds gay as hell.

You could just say, "Hey what are you doing Tuesday? Let's meet up for a show/drink/bowling."

The more important issue is - have you done anything to build attraction with this girl? Or are you just assuming that having a chick's number from a class = "I should ask her out."

Because getting a girl's number in class, and her asking you for files just sounds like normal college networking and not sexual interest. So ask her out if you want. But I don't see any indication that you've laid any groundwork with this girl.
