The only kind of date I've ever been on are the school dance and dinner kind of date. I've never randomly asked a chick on a date with the hopes of making her a girlfriend. Here are some questions:

1) What does "dating" mean and how do you reach this status?
2) When you ask a girl on a date, how does an activity receive the formal label of "date"? Do you say "Want to go on a date with me?" (this sounds AFC to me), or when you ask a chick to do something that is just you two is that a date?
3) If you ask her to do something without saying its a date and she asks, "are you asking me on a date?!" how do you respond to that C & F like?

I've never had a "girlfriend" before, but have had girls who are friends. I don't know how to reach that situation. Do you go on offical dates long enough until she says "I love you" or asks if you love her? Are these things gradual? I really don't understand this whole thing.

If she asks you "are you asking me out on a date?"

A GREAT C+F answer is "I just want to feed you"

This is a line from the movie "Down to Earth" with Chris Rock.

Or...be a mystery

"hm....I never thought about that" Smile, then walk away

yeah there is a lot of ambigouity here. I'd also like some clarification, but i think it means different things to different people?

That's a nice line, I just need to redo it so they don't say "that's from a movie."

Some clarification is desired though. I asked some of my friends and they couldn't really answer me either. So I came here, where all of the real DJ's are.

dont ever look at it as dating,if a friend ask if your dating say"iono" and carry on a conversation. let the girl start going around and saying that stuff just carry on like normal

Did you ever watch Anger Management - "I am on the verge of... exploding in my pants!"

Now that's a funny quote lol.

Just relax and say "Yes, I'm asking you on a date" if you really can't think of anything more interesting to say.

Seriously, what's the problem?
It's this kind of *****footing around that's going to turn your chances to ****, rather than an inability to recite some lame line without visibly shaking.

Has the spirit of the DJ taught you nothing.. the mentality is what you need! (unless you resemble Quasimodo)

Man, I'm having the same problem: trying to figure out what to say when asking a girl out. I've never done this before so I'm nervous as hell.

Hmmm...

1. "Dating" means you are going on dates.

2. I just ask them the same way I would ask any other friend. I'll let you figure that out for yourself. I really don't think it's that big of a deal. The definition of an "official date" doesn't really matter.

I really don't think these questions matter much. Definitions, techniques, or lines usually don't elevate your game. And it's just a game, so have fun.

1) So if I just ask them to do stuff, and after several times of this, it becomes understood that we are just "going out"?

2) My situation has become even more confusing.

That "Lauren" girl I was talking all year about that I liked I heard likes me.

Then there's this other chick who obviously likes me because her parents like me and hinted at her needing a boyfriend and her sister said we should go out, and she calls me and stuff.

I don't really want to hurt the second girl, but I've spent so much time working on the first one that I also don't want to think that I've spent all of that time on nothing.

What should I do?

3) I have learned that "Lauren" is liked by my best friend, but I don't think she like him. She often plays around with people's emotions. I have no idea how to get through this situation.

"Lauren likes to play with people's emotions."
She's a ***** but I m guessing she's hotter than the second one.
If I were you I would go after the second girl. She sounds much more promising and sincere.
You said you heard that Lauren likes you then later said that she likes to play with people's emotions. Hmm... I sense something fishy going on.

What is it that you want and why do you want it? That's what you need to figure it out.

The last thing you want when going into a date is to be an AFC trying to sound like a DJ.

Maeisgood, if you're getting such strong signs from number two, why not get with that? Just because you spent a lot of work on number one doesn't mean that you have to accept total success or total failure, you can postpone that for later if you want.
